Using up some scraps

May 11th, 2009

Here’s a card I made using up some scraps I’ve had sitting around for ages.

And a favourite retired stamp set.

New Catalogue

April 5th, 2009

Stampin’ Up!® has a brand new idea book and catalogue, and boy is it gorgeous.  This is definitely my favourite one so far!  My wishlist is so long I’m too scared to actually tally it up.

E-mail me to arrange your copy today!  $10 to pick a copy up or $15 posted to you.

And here are a couple of cards I’ve made with a couple of new stamp sets.

I made this card from a combination of inspirations.  First I found CPS109 and then CC38.

I stamped the image onto whisper white, coloured it using inkpads and an aqua painter.  I then punched the image out as a circle and highlighted the edges by sponging with pink ink.  Matted the image with a scallop circle and pierced holes in each scallop.  Layered up the base cards, piercing the edges of the black, laid down the two pink strips and the image piece on top of these.

Products used in this card:

Stamp set: Window Dressing (Level 3 Hostess)
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink
Ink: Black Stazon for stamping the image, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Going Grey, Bashful Blue and Basic Black for colouring.
Accessories: Trimmer, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Aqua Painter, Snail Adhesive, Paper Piercer and Mat Pack from the Crafters’ Tool Kit

The next card was also created from a combination of two challenges – a caardvarks sketch challenge and CC16.

To create this card I stamped the image and the sentiment onto Kraft cardstock and trimmed around, leaving extra width on the right side of the image for scalloping using the Scallop Edge Punch.  I coloured the image using an Aqua Painter and the Stampin’ Pastels.  I rounded the corners of all the pieces and also used the Scallop Edge Punch on a piece of black cardstock, lined it up with the image piece of Kraft cardstock and trimmed it down.  The sentiment was layered onto Real Red card and a small piece of Basic Black on the bottom right corner.  The base card is Basic Black, then Real Red, then Kraft.

Products used for this card:

Stamp Set: Echoes of Kindness (Level 1 Hostess)
Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red, Kraft
Ink: Black Stazon
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Trimmer, Stampin’ Pastels, Scallop Edge Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, SNAIL adhesive

Layout Share

March 27th, 2009

Have done quite a few layouts lately, and all using the gorgeous Bittersweet range available from Little Scrapbook Shop.

This first one was for the March cybercrop.  It was a Dr. Seuss theme.  This layout was the sample for the sketch challenge, and I also added the requirement of using a Dr. Seuss quote somewhere on the page.  I love Dr. Suess.

This one is Cayley, post eating watermelon.  Still not sure who came out better… the girl or the fruit?

Finally (for the moment) a gorgeous ladybird I caught on camera one day.  Now a lovely layout.

And some detail…

Yep, definitely loving the Basic Grey bittersweet range!

Need to make some cards, so thought I might as well complete some challenges at the same time.

Here’s my take on Sketch Saturday #37

Let’s Go Fly A Kite

February 3rd, 2009

My first layout completed since Jos was born.

Oh.  Did I forget to mention.  *huge grin*

Yes, the baby arrived…

Jos Fletcher – 6th January 2009 – 3.830kg or 8lb 7oz.  We love him to pieces.

He’s four weeks old today… time flies.

Speaking of flying, back to the layout I was going to show you.

This is Elisha and Cayley walking down the alley near our place, to the park, to go fly Elisha’s birthday present kite.

Check out LSBS for more info on the layout, and there’s even a little technique available (for the thickers).

Updating for the new year

December 31st, 2008

A new year and a new look… could take a little while to have it all sorted, but I’m going as quickly as I can.  Will have information about Sale-A-Bration and the new mini up very soon!

Beate’s Weekend Sketch & Cute Card Thursday

November 12th, 2008

First up, weekend sketch #65

Photobucket

My card for this one changed a little when I realised the sentiment piece was just a leeetle too big. Oops!!!

Photobucket

And over at Cute Card Thursday, the theme this week was fairies and angels. Again a bit of a deviation I think… I don’t have any ‘cute’ angels or fairies. But an angel I had.

Two more creations

November 11th, 2008

A card which I did for the papertake weekly challenge, then thought it was too late to enter it for the week, then realised it wasn’t, but by the time I realised it was.

Confused? Yeah, me too!

Here’s the sketch:

And the result:

And here’s a layout I did while at the Little Scrapbook Shop retreat earlier this year.

TECC41, the Kerryn Challenge and a beach layout

November 10th, 2008

I think it might be safe to say that I’m on a bit of a creating and uploading roll!

Here is the sketch from Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #41

And my take on it

Photobucket

Friday Nic challenged the Little Scrapbook Shop Design Team to the “Kerryn Challenge”. We had to take a look through Kerryn’s albums and find something to inspire us.

This layout of Kerryn’s got me to use a photo I’ve had sitting around forever and have been to scared to scrap. And I’m happy with the result.

Finally, a layout for the Scrapbooking Australia Top 50 monthly cybercrop. I only managed to complete the first challenge.
