Honey, Where Are The Kids?
On some cushions, in a tent, on a chair, in the lounge of course!

Super heros are known for needing certain things.
Take for instance the following example.

He has his cape and his light sabre.

The light sabre actually lights up and makes noise. That is very important.
But the most important thing of all?
His mummy!

Photos snapped by Brett (aka Daddy) over the fence one morning as we were on our way to school.
Cape made from tutorial at The Long Thread.
Me: Do you want me to sing you a song? How about ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’?
Jos: No winkle winkle, want Pop.
Me: You want a song about Pop?
Jos: Yeah
Me: Oh, I don’t really know any songs about Pop. I do know ‘Pop Goes The Weasel’, well the tune and the last line anyway, will that do?
Jos: Yes
Brief interlude of me whistling the tune and then singing ‘Pop goes the weasel’ several times.
Jos: Now Nan goes the weasel!
Most of these posts of late have been me going through the photos and telling stories from them.
But I have some memories I’d like to record, and they’re pictureless at the moment.
In the week following his birthday Elisha discovered that he had a wobbly tooth. He has been waiting and waiting for his teeth to start falling out, and he is beyond excited. He is constantly wiggling it trying to get it to come out. At one point he said to me, “Everyone in my family knows that I have a wobbly tooth, but not many other people know, but soon everyone will know.” And boy, do they! He even told his class for news today.

During the holidays I took the kids around to mum and dad’s a couple of times. On one occassion my dad, who’d had a tooth removed by the dentist the day before, was showing of his battle wounds to Cayley. She was appalled. Then he waggled his false teeth at her. Horrified. He then moved on to give the performance to Jos. I was talking to Mum and watching Cayley out of the corner of my eye; as Dad was giving Jos the show, she was backing away from him into a corner, and yet not taking her eyes off him.
And then, his false teeth fell out.
And Cayley fell over backwards. She got such a fright!
It was hilarious. I still laugh thinking about it now.

I know that there were more stories than that to tell, but my mind has gone completely blank. Guess I’ll be leaving it ’til another time.
Cayley’s class had a morning tea party before the Easter school holidays.
Jos and I joined in the celebrations, and much fun was had by all.
I also took my camera.
And got some cute shots… and flash backs to my own kindy days.

Jos, making his very effective ‘brumming’ noise for the truck.

This is what I remember. Using real kitchen pots and pans with sand and water. So much fun, and not a normal home activity.

Cayley is quite at home at kindy.

Lately, Cayley has taken to face paint. Hooray!
Elisha has almost never let anyone ever paint his face. Though I think now watching Cayley and Jos get so much fun out of it, he’s changing his mind.
The last thing I painted was bunnies.
Here’s Cayley

And Jos, he doesn’t have quite the staying power for sitting in a chair, so it’s just a little bit smaller.

At the moment Cayley has been asking me to paint her hands and/or feet, because of some ideas we’ve seen in books. But with the wet weather, I’m not too keen to have painted hands and feet inside. When it is a bit drier outside we’ll go for it.
You guessed it!

He was after a spider. A fairly decent sized one too. He’s just as brave as his Daddy, but has a little way to go until he is just at tall too.
I must confess, the thought of putting this photo up with the piles of stuff all around was something that I thought about. I wondered if I should crop the mess out, or try my hand at a bit of trickier editing than I normally do. Or even offering an explanation for why it is there.
But then I remembered my change project at Bible study at the moment. I want to be less worried about what people think about me… not fearing others’ judgement, or needing their approval. Being happy in the safety of my heavenly Father and everything that he has done for me.
